Success! Bridal show is in the bag!
Yesterday, Heather, Ben and I talked to hundreds of awesome brides at the Omaha Bridal Show. I was so impressed at the cool ideas the brides had for their invitations. The invitation is the first impression guests have for the wedding, so it's important to make it a good impression!
Thank you to the village of people who made our show possible.
If you liked our flowers, they were by the uber-talented Barry Beard at Bag n Save on 108th and Maple, 402-493-5833. If you liked our tablecloth, it was from United Rent-All. If you liked our photos, they were by photographer Alyssa Schukar.

We are tying up a few loose ends in preparation for the Omaha Bridal Show tomorrow. If you are in the Omaha area, stop by the Embassy Suites in LaVista and say Hi!
For those of you who aren't around Omaha, we wanted to get you in on the fun too. If you contact us this week about your invitations we will throw in an illustrated map with your wedding package. The directions maps normally start at $100, so if you like our maps, make sure you drop us a line this week and tell us to HOOK YOU UP! After 9/9/09, this offer is no good, people!

We fell in love with the DIY project over at Merriment Design and HAD to try it for ourselves. Raw edged fabric, bold colors, graphic shapes and sewing on paper ... what could be better?! I must say, this project is not for the impatient, but the end result looks great!
Bonus: Win free bridal shower invitations! We put together a bridal shower gift basket to be raffled off at the show on Sunday. Here is a sneak peek at what you can win:

Sometimes the smallest invites have the most impact. These may be tiny, but they sure have a lot of impact. Hello, orange and polka dots!
If you can't make it to the bridal show in three days, don't worry! Look for our bridal show coupon and free downloadable on the blog in the coming days.

Go on, shake your tail feathers! This invitation is featured in our ad and it is one of my favorite that we have created. I love the linen texture of the paper and the drama of the feathers. Come check it out here. See our other designs here, here, here, here, here, here and of course, here.

I chopped it all off.
This is how it always goes. I grow out my hair as long as I can and then I chop it short. This way I can only go to the salon about three times a year so the disappointment is kept at a minimum. I always go in thinking my hair will look new and fun and come out disappointed that I look exactly the same. NOT THIS TIME!
I had the greatest stylist, Laura, at Garbos, who totally understood what I was going for and made it happen. Finally, after years of searching, I think I have found my hair person!
I hope now people will stop asking me what grade I am in.

A tricky undertaking, these sweet little invitations have a twist to them, a raw fabric edge! They are light and delicate but really make a statement.
We will have these invitations and more at the Omaha Bridal Show. You may have seen the billboards around Omaha. This year, the show is sponsored by The Knot, so we are excited to see what surprises are in store!

Number 10! This invitation is laid back but has tons of style. All pieces are held together with a pocket folder and sport the sassy blue and green wedding theme. All the paper is eco friendly using 30%-100% post-consumer materials ... except for the shiny silver envelopes, they are just 100% fun.
Come check out more of our eye-candy in person at the Omaha Bridal Show on August 30th.

i need fruit knits
Check out these apple and pear knit jackets from Jacqueline Knits!
We went to the market and berry picking this weekend. When we got home, I promptly dropped an entire basket worth of white peaches on the floor! Most of them are okay, but the ones on the bottom are definitely bruised.
If I had a basket full of peach jackets, I'm sure they would have faired better. Sigh.
Found on Fondly, Optimistic.
