one big happy birthday

Today I wish a big Happy Birthday to a very dear friend: Chaviva!

If we still worked at the Daily Nebraskan, you can bet I'd decorate your computer with this little diddy!

squeling with delight

This felt mobile from eleni creative is quite possibly the cutest thing ever. If I had a baby boo this would be hanging above the crib. It's just delightful!

Wooo hooo!

puffer

I love puffer fish. They're actually not that pretty in real life, but this little guy by Mudpuppy is. He was born to sit on my desk.

Happy Monday!

inspired taste

Awhile back we created invitations for Adam and Joanne's wedding. We got so much wonderful feedback on their invitations that when they told us about their new venture, Inspired Taste, we jumped at the chance to help them design a logo (above!).

Inspired Taste is the blog they've created together (cute!) to tell the world about their adventures in cooking, travel and photography. And it's awesome. The site features their very own recipes and cooking trials and it's sure to make your mouths water.

Roasted Tomatillo Salsa (Salsa Verde)

Breakfast Pizza

Mini Banana, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sandwiches

Lucky for you, Adam and Jo are having a contest RIGHT NOW to get feedback on their new blog. Just go take a peak around and leave some feedback in the comment area. You could be one of three lucky winners who receive a sampling of their favorite Crate & Barrel kitchen gadgets (all used in recipes on their blog, I'm sure!).

thinking ahead pays off

This idea is becoming more and more popular and I love it! If you think ahead, you can create some awesome thank you cards like this couple did.

We can create one of these bad boys for you, of course.

erik johansson rocks

The photoraphy and retouching work of Erik Johansson is just incredible. I can think of more than a few magazine covers these flawless illustrations would be perfect on.

Do yourself a favor and check out the rest of his work!

Giraffe says "S'up."

"Megan and Phil just got married at the Santa Barbara Zoo, among lions, parrots and monkeys. Their guests even fed giraffes after the ceremony! "You don't realize how big a giraffe really is until one is standing right next to you," says photographer Max Wanger. Awesome."

Kelly + Joshua

You may remember this thank you note sneak peak from awhile back...Well, we followed those up with these fantastic fall wedding invitations for Kelly and Joshua. This amazing couple is getting married in Saint Louis (next month!) so we created some special venue-with-a-touch-of-fall illustrations to incorporate into the invites. We couldn't be happier with the turnout.

Congratulations, Kelly and Joshua! We hope your wedding day is just as wonderful as you are!

i want to wander

I'm totally envious of these wanderers. This couple (aka The Wanderlusters) decided to put their jobs and lives on hold and spend 2009 wandering around the country in a Scamp trailer they renovated. Wow!

Check out what they've been up to on their blog.

cute + congrats

So happy for you, lady!

ahhh, amsale

I (along with everybody else) looooved Tess's wedding dress in the movie 27 Dresses. This dress on SMP today so reminded me of that dress and how much I adore Amsale.

Her dresses are so gorg! Feast your eyes on these!

Photos are from the Amsale website.

Wedding Do List

If you didn't make it to the bridal show, you didn't get one of our handy dandy Wedding Do Lists. Lucky for you...we're offering them up as a free downloadable!

Download yours here and start crossing things off your list!

Here's how it works:
1. Download the pdf, which has three lists per 8.5" x 11" sheet.
2. Print the document out on a piece of 8.5" x 11" paper.
3. Cut on the dotted lines.
4. Start your list!

All we ask is that you don't copy, reproduce or use the lists for profit.

Hairy font

This makes me want to go watch Monsters, Inc. again! What other font makes you want to pet it? Awesome.

"This hirsute bit of lettering was created by Chris Davenport using Nodebox, another in the increasing number of 'digital sketchbooks' available to designers." Read more about it at Creative Review.

hello, weekend

It's rainy and dreary out today, but I'm hopeful things will clear up for at least one good weekend day.

We spent last weekend enjoying the gorgeous weather, chatting away and exploring waterfalls up in the Poconos with some of my bests. Sigh, if only this weekend could be so lovely.

Pantone Wedding could be the coolest wedding planning simplifier ever! The Dessy Group and Pantone LLC have teamed up to make color matching totally easy.

From the press release : "PANTONE WEDDING includes perfectly matched paper swatch cards that can be used on their own, or in combination with Dessy’s popular fabric swatches, to communicate wedding colors – from bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, accessories and menswear to flowers, invitations and tabletop designs."

Two VERY different bridal showers

(Pride and Prejudice, 1995)

I've been invited to two different bridal showers this weekend, both of which are a theme I've never experienced before.

On Saturday night, the event will be a sex toy "slumber party." Don't worry, the mother and mother-in-law were not invited. I've heard that these are a lot of fun, so I'm interested to see how it goes.

Sunday afternoon, there will be an English tea party in honor of the bride. I'm sure it will be full of fun gossip and, hopefully, scones! I love scones.

I'm chuckling at how wonderfully opposite these events are themed. It is essentially the same party, just different brides.

New goods on our Etsy site

At long last, the cards have arrived! We just got four new greeting cards up on Etsy. Check out the store here.

The idea was to make something unique but can apply to any situation. I wouldn't send a With All My Heart card to my boss, but pretty much any other situation it would be perfect!

Let us know what you think!
