Illustration everywhere!

Ohh, Envelop, you are dangerous. Envelop is an online print-on-demand platform, where independent illustrators can create and sell high quality cotton basics worldwide, made in Belgium, using an eco-defendable procedure.  It also might be where all my time (aka money) is spent for the next few days.  I want it all.

Here’s a sampling of some of the totes:

Visit Envelop to see more than 800 uniquely designed items, ranging from kitchenwear and tabletop linens to pillowcovers.

Totes shown above:  1. Hjalmar_blackwhite / 2. Desolate But Beautiful Life / 3. Little Bird / 4. The Chase / 5. Horseshoe Worm family / 6. Woolly Bear

Cake color theory

Houseoforigin_color

I'm loving these Color cakes ... and check out this idea of a Color Diner!   I could see doing  this with mini cupcakes at a party or reception.  Just make sure you snap a picture before people start grabbing their favorite colors.

{via Bloesem } "House of Origin are Marriƫt Willems and Simone Kroon ... a design studio with several disciplines, but a focus on Food design. During their study at the Design Academy in Eindhoven their fascination for traditional crafts began. They created, designed and styled special dinners, food installations and several cookbooks."

Feathery and fabulous

The ultimate accessory: headpieces (aka fascinator).  These gorgeous babies can transform your entire look. I am dying over these pieces from the new Lo Boheme spring collection.

The latest Carolina Herrera

"Carolina Herrera is the go to designer for all things elegant and chic and her new bridal collection is no exception. The head gear was out to play and the dresses, oh the dresses. There were definitely a few show stoppers in the mix. Matthew Grazier was there to capture all of the gorgeous details, front, back and everywhere in between."

 Love!

Get into the kitchen

Ben is decidedly the cook in our family.  I had aspirations of developing cooking skills until Ben swept in and made everything taste amazing in the first attempt ... not the 18th.  Now I chop the vegetables.

But! I would still love to learn, so I'm intrigued by this book, The Newlywed Kitchen: Delicious Meals for Couples Cooking Together. It has "83 recipes that gradually increase in complexity and ultimately serve as building blocks for beginning cooks." I love the idea of starting at the basics and working our way up together!

This would also be a great wedding gift if your happen to be attending any ceremonies this season.

a dress a day

New Dress A Day might be the best blogging idea ever. Ever, ever. Marisa is going an entire year without doing an ounce of traditional shopping. Instead, she's repurposing a dress a day from thrift store and flea market finds. And each dress costs less than a buck!

These are some of my fav before and afters.

Don't buy the wedding dress too small!

Listen to Stacey and Clinton and dress the body you have ... but also, you might stay away from these bad-boys this summer:

"I saw this fun little project in Home Depot's flyer this week and thought how easy this would be to do for a weekend project. Make this shelf for above the doorway in the kitchen or bathroom (or wherever). A fun little way to create some cosy storage. Click here to read how."

Keeps on giving

 What a cute idea!  Send someone the outdoors with a PostCarden.  {via the SCOOP }

Postcarden is a series of three greeting cards that you can grow into a mini garden. Designed by London based A Studio for Design, they wanted to design a greeting card that brought more than only momentary enjoyment. Mission accomplished.  They can be purchased  @ Brooklyn5and10.com for $12.95.
